Lizzie Brown![]() Henton Attorney General 2009 ![]() March 2010 HOY update Hi,
Lizzie is in her third year at Waikato University studying towards a Bachelor of Management Studies and has been a recipient of the Sir Edmund Hillary scholarship during this time. She was awarded a University Sporting Blues award for her achievements during 2008 from the University of Waikato. She is an eventing rider and has been a member of the New Zealand Under 21 Talent ID squad since she was 14. In the winter of 2006 she had the amazing opportunity of spending 5 months based in U.K with top British event rider Lucy Wiegersma and was responsible for competing some of Lucy’s up and coming horses. In 2007 she placed 2nd and 4th at the NZ Eventing Champs, Taupo. In March 2008 Lizzie won the NZ U21 National Eventing Champs (Charisma Trophy) and in May 2008 she won the NZ Novice Championship (Mamaku Trophy) on her younger horse. In that season she also had eight total wins at horse trial competitions. In 2009 Lizzie has been selected onto the NZ Young Rider trans-tasman team. All of Lizzies horses are self-produced which she believes makes the partnership between horse and rider extra special. Lizzie is also a Student Ambassador for the University of Waikato and in her spare time she coaches younger riders aswell as instructing at local Pony Clubs, she is also an active member of Eventing Waikato. Long term Lizzie is looking towards London 2012 Olympic games with ‘Henton Attorney General’ and does not wish to retire from the sport until she has won both team and individual gold medals at Olympic games and World Championships.
